The Fort McMurray 8-Ball Pool League started in 2002 under the BCA (Billiard Congress of America) banner. In 2004, the Fort McMurray 8-Ball League moved over the newly formed CCS (Canadian Cue Sport Association).
The League was created to promote the sport of Pocket Billiards in the city of Fort McMurray for all Player skill levels. This Pool League runs non-profit, thus allowing for more Prizes and Trips given out to winning Teams.
In the past, the League has sent Teams and individual Players to Calgary, Toronto, Reno Nevada, and Las Vegas Nevada for National and Regional tournaments.
